September has that wonderful in-between feeling. Summer’s warmth is still clinging on, but the first signs of autumn are creeping in. The evenings call for comfort food, the markets are brimming with apples, and we’re reaching for those small batch Irish flavours that make this month special.
Here’s what’s on our table right now:

🧀 Cheese of the Month: Coolattin Cheddar
From Tom Burgess in Wicklow, this raw-milk, clothbound cheddar is a true celebration of Irish grass-fed dairy. Nutty, buttery, and full of depth. The kind of cheese that demands pride of place on the table.

🍏 A Taste of the Orchard
September is apple season, and we’re leaning into it with apple-based chutneys and preserves from our shelves. Perfect for cutting through rich cheese and adding a little zing to a sandwich or board. Northern Ireland is known for its apples – and with good reason!
🍞 The Staple: Fresh Sourdough
There’s nothing like thick-cut sourdough to hold it all together. We love pairing our cheeses and chutneys with bread from our local bakery partners like Counter Culture in Bangor. Simple, hearty, and made for sharing. Real bread 👌
🍫 Something Sweet
A square (or two) of small batch Irish chocolate makes the perfect after-dinner treat. Whether you’re a dark chocolate devotee or more of a milk chocolate fan, our bean-to-bar makers have something to make September evenings feel that bit cosier.
That’s what’s on our table this September. A mix of comfort, seasonality, and small batch joy. What’s on yours?
