As part of the 2022 ‘Comber Earlies Festival’, celebrating our world famous potatoes, we have organised three special walking tours of Comber with a few of our friends!
Starting at 10am at Rollo Gillespie, the tour will cover the history of the town from Early Man to St Patrick, from Vikings to Cistercians, from Ulster-Scots to industrialists! Local specialist and historian Lolly from Hidden Ulster Tours knows all of the secrets. It’s a rather special place after all…
Back in the Square around 11.15am we will enjoy coffee and fresh scones at McBride’s on the Square.
We then set off again, covering more ground and more history and thinking about the changes in the town over the years. It’s all fairly easy walking ( just the one hill up High Street ) – but wear flat shoes and bring a brolly, just in case!
You will be sure to have walked up an appetite, so when we arrive back in the Square at around 1pm we will head back into McBrides for a tasty lunch of homemade soup and sandwiches – and maybe a little something from Indie Füde too….
After lunch you’ll be released to explore our wonderful town, and its plethora of local independent shops. We will be more than happy to send you in the right direction!
