New to the Neighbourhood: A Brunch Lover’s Guide to What’s New on Ormeau Road

If there’s one thing Belfast does well, it’s brunch. And Ormeau Road might just be the city’s best-kept secret when it comes to finding a great weekend bite. With leafy streets, a laid-back buzz, and a wave of brilliant indie openings, it’s the kind of neighbourhood that invites you to slow down, grab a coffee, and explore on foot.

At Indie Füde, we’ve always loved the food scene here. And now, with a fresh wave of gorgeous spots popping up, we’re celebrating with out ‘Wee Taste of Ormeau – Brunch Edition — a guided ramble that brings you to the heart (and the heartiest eats) of this ever-evolving part of town.

Here’s a closer look at three new local favourites that are making their mark on Belfast’s brunch landscape.

🍕 Charlie’s – Sourdough Pizza with a Slice of Passion

What started in a back garden has grown into one of Belfast’s best pizza destinations. Charlie’s is the brainchild of Marty Duggan, formerly known as The Pi Guy. He’s spent years perfecting his naturally leavened sourdough pizza dough — and now it’s served fresh from a permanent home at 306–310 Ormeau Road.

The dough is fermented for 72 hours for maximum flavour and texture, and toppings are proudly local where possible. Think whole pizzas to share (or not!) and slices as big as your head! With its relaxed vibe and community feel, Charlie’s is the kind of place you’ll find yourself returning to. Whether it’s for a quick bite or a long, lazy lunch where you eat your body weight in dough… 🍕

🥐 Krumb – Artisanal Bakes That Tell a Story

A skip, hop and a jump away from our own shop, 258 Ormeau Road, Krumb is a bakery that believes in doing things properly. Open Wednesday to Sunday, their counter is a rotating display of buttery, beautiful things. From their signature zingy lemon meringue tarts to rich cheesy jambons made with Irish cheese.

Each bake is thoughtful, seasonal, and full of character. It’s no wonder Krumb has fast become a go-to for folk in the know. Behind it all is Sadhbh Baker, a Kerry native with a name that couldn’t be more fitting. And a knack for creating bakes that feel both nostalgic and new. Whether you’re popping in for a wee bun or making it the main event of your morning, you’re in for a treat.

Craving something a little different? #Harmony at 355 Ormeau Road delivers a bold, exciting twist on traditional brunch. Their menu blends Asian flavours with brunch classics — and the result is something genuinely new and interesting.

From the crispy Satay Chicken Sando to the indulgent Apple Crumble French Toast with condensed milk, every plate is packed with flair and fusion. Their fruit teas are vibrant and refreshing, and their floral hot teas are like a wee hug! The atmosphere is friendly, the dishes are playful, and the flavours are delish.
